Circuito Internazionale di Viterbo: where to stay and what to know before you come

A few kilometres from Montefiascone, along the Cassia Nord, sits a track that brings a very different crowd to the Tuscia than the usual lakeside tourists: drivers, teams, motorsport fans, and anyone chasing the thrill of a supercar track day.

What is the Leopard © Circuit

The Circuito Internazionale di Viterbo, now also known as the Leopard Circuit, is a multi-purpose facility homologated for both national and international competitions. It hosts karting, supermoto, and minimoto races, along with testing days and track days. Opened in 2008, it underwent a full renovation in 2025.

The competitions

The circuit has a track record with top-tier events behind it: in 2009 it hosted the opening round of the Supermoto World Championship, and in the years since it has held several rounds of the Italian Karting Championship. When it’s not booked for races, the circuit opens to licensed amateur drivers, and specialised operators also run supercar driving experiences there.

Where to stay

Staying at AuraVista, in the historic centre of Montefiascone, puts the circuit just minutes away by car, roughly 5-6 km. For anyone travelling with a van or a kart trailer, Campo Boario is right near the apartment: a large open area that doubles as Montefiascone’s market space during the week and easily accommodates bulkier vehicles.

For competitors

Between sessions, or in the days leading up to a race, the Tuscia has plenty to offer. Lake Bolsena is 15 minutes away, Montefiascone’s historic centre can be explored on foot in half an hour, and for anyone staying longer, both Civita di Bagnoregio and Orvieto are within half an hour’s drive.

A different kind of race weekend

Anyone who follows motorsport knows the anonymous hotels that cluster around racetracks all too well. AuraVista offers something else: an independent apartment in a medieval hilltop town, with all the space you need to properly recover between practice sessions.
